When to look in Santorini

Usually good to visit: May to June and September to October, when it is warm and the sea is pleasant. Often quieter, with lower demand: November to March, when many hotels and restaurants close for the season. Moving your dates by a few days, or staying mid-week, can change what's on offer.

Where to compare

Rates can differ a lot between areas. Popular choices:

  • Fira: The island's main town, lively and well connected, with caldera views
  • Oia: Postcard village at the northern tip, famous for its sunsets
  • Imerovigli: Quieter clifftop village high above the caldera with wide sea views
  • Kamari: Black-sand beach resort on the east coast with tavernas and a promenade

Checklist before you book
